Meet Our Staff

Meet Our Staff 2018-04-25T17:25:31+00:00

At Grants Pass Podiatry, we take pride in the friendliness and professionalism of our entire staff. We work together as a team to ensure that you always feel welcome, comfortable and completely informed when you visit our practice.

“I always knew I wanted to go into medicine, but I had no idea what podiatry was until a friend was injured as a college athlete and I accompanied him to a foot doctor. In talking with him about the specialty, what appealed to me was the ability to have my own practice and really help people in pain stay ambulatory.”

John E. Castle, DPM, FACFAS

As a graduate of one of the top podiatric surgical residency programs in the country, and with over 25 years of surgical experience behind him, Dr. John Castle loves being able to use his background in biomechanics to help people solve their foot pain with conservative solutions. If he can do something as simple as modifying a shoe insole or prescribing orthotics to give his patients relief, he’ll try that first. When a condition is more serious, his advanced training and expertise enable him to perform major reconstructive surgery that greatly improves comfort and mobility. He is passionate about providing every patient with the best possible care, which is immediately evident in the warm and welcoming atmosphere we’ve created in our office.

Following his podiatry residency, which included practicing abroad in England, Dr. Castle spent a year in San Francisco in a four-person practice before moving to Grants Pass in October 1993. Family and the natural beauty of the area drew him to Southern Oregon. He enjoys outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, cycling and fishing with his wife and four children. He also is a classic car enthusiast who has recently completed working on a classic Camaro with his son. You may see him cruising down the streets of Grants Pass in his ’62 Corvette during our Back to the Fifties Celebration.

Dr. Castle has been a partner of AllCare Health since 1994 and is one of its founding physicians. He is also a founding partner of Grants Pass Surgery Center.

Dustin Grether, DPM, AACFAS

Dr. Grether joined Grants Pass Podiatry in August, 2017 after completing a three year residency for training on foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, limb salvage, and sports medicine. He attended podiatric medical school in Pomona, California at Western University of Health Sciences. Two years of residency were spent in Albuquerque, New Mexico and his final year was with Kaiser Sacramento and included a strong emphasis on foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, sports medicine, and limb salvage. Dr. Grether will tend to each individual case and make a plan of action with you, as the patient, at the center.

Dr. Grether treats all phases of lower extremity pain and deformity. His expertise extends to club foot casting using the Ponseti method, biomechanics and orthotic inserts, sports medicine and rehabilitation. He offers the latest in surgical care including foot and ankle reconstruction and arthroscopy. His goal is to provide the highest quality of care to help return patients to the active lifestyle they enjoy.

Having grown up in the Rogue Valley, Dr. Grether enjoys being outside and is thrilled to be living in Southern Oregon again after his 11 years away for education. He and his high school sweetheart are currently raising their two boys. As a family, they enjoy traveling, movies, eating good food, snowboarding, scuba diving, kayaking, camping and other outdoor activities.
